isentropic mixing
isentropic mixing
[¦īs·ən′träp·ik ′mik·siŋ] (meteorology)
Any atmospheric mixing process which occurs within an isentropic surface; the fact that many atmospheric motions are reversible adiabatic processes renders this type of mixing important, and exchange coefficients have been computed therefor.
