Joint Tape. Stick that over the crack and cut it with a Stanley knife.
Next, get some easy-fill filler and apply two thin coats over the adhesive
joint tape. Sand it and give the repair two coats of paint.
I would use plasterboard self adhesive
joint tape. Stick this over the cracks, removing any loose dust as you go.

Top tip HAIRLINE cracks on a wall can be easily repaired by sticking a piece of fibre tape or
joint tape over the crack.
Then apply
joint tape and additional mud coats (Photo2).

For a basic joint, spread joint compound over the steam and embed a strip of
joint tape in the compound.
You can sort it with a roll of FibaTape, or any other self adhesive
joint tape. This tape is used to cover joints in plasterboard.

If you are going to redecorate, cover the crack with self-adhesive
joint tape, cover the tape with two coats of filler, sand and paint.
