The femoral neck fracture was fixed with four partially threaded
lag screws. At two-year follow-up, the patient had returned to full activities with no pain, and radiographs demonstrated preserved joint space with no evidence of AVN.
The most suitable position of the
lag screw was found at the middle position of the TAD (20 mm) and femoral neck (AP, IS=0[degrees]), according to von Mises compression stress values occurring on the fracture line.
Treatment ranges from close reduction to open reduction with nonrigid fixation, transosseous wires, circum- mandibular wires, AO reconstruction plates;10 mini dynamic compression plates, compression plates,11-12 non compression plates,13 and
lag screws.14 But still angle, so no consensus has been made yet for the ideal treatment modality for angle fracture.
The sliding distance of the
lag screw was <10% in 39 patients (92.86%) and >10% in three patients (7.14%).

In the neutralisation mode, the plate functions to reduce the forces on an inter-fragmentary compression or
lag screw. In the buttress mode, the plate acts to support the fracture fragment, preventing displacement from forces.
Solitary
lag screw osteosynthesis in the treatment of fractures of the angle of the mandible: a retrospective study.
A tricky but better-looking repair is to drive one or two long
lag screws through the base of the post and into the stair framing.
