lifeguard

A call sign used by air ambulance aircraft. This call sign is used in the flight plan and also in radio communications. In the latter case, it means expeditious and priority handling of aircraft is required. The call sign “Lifeguard” is followed by an aircraft registration number (e.g., “Lifeguard two five six”).
