Since the charged weak decay ([v.sup.*] [right arrow] e[W.sup.+]) is dominant in both cases, we preferred this channel for investigating the excited neutrino in future linear collider experiments.
The FCC study will run in parallel with the CLIC study, which will look at the feasibility of developing an 80-kilometer linear collider. This concept calls for a machine to collide electrons and positrons, also known as antielectrons, headon at energies similar to that of the LHC.
Instead of whirling atoms around a 17-mile underground ring as in the giant LHC under the Franco-Swiss border, the linear collider will fire them in straight lines along a 20-mile track.
Cern experts say the new linear collider will be a "scalpel" examining particles chipped off atoms by the LHC.
Once the LHC is running at top energy, will the world need the International Linear Collider?
In his research paper 'Wake field Suppression in High Gradient Linacs for Lepton Linear Colliders', accelerator physicist Professor Roger Jones examines research into the suppression of these wake fields.
Topics include extra dimensions; The International Linear Collider; astrophysical aspects of neutrinos; leptogenesis; neutrino experiments; string theory, string model-building, and string phenomenology--a practical introduction; theoretical aspects of neutrino masses and mixings; searching for the Higgs boson; Z phenomenology and the LHC; neutrinoless double beta decay; and supersymmetry in elementary particle physics.
The International Linear Collider is now being developed by a global collaboration.
Moreover, further exploiting the Terascale physics will be possible in the near future with a new accelerator known as the International Linear Collider (ILC).
The committee also said that the cutbacks from international research projects, such as the International Linear Collider, had made Britain look like an "unreliable and incompetent" international partner, and harmed its standing in international scientific research.
