In such applications, an RF
Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) [15] is mandatory.
GaAs FET MMIC technology can be used to make very compact and inexpensive phase shifters, power amplifiers and
low-noise amplifiers that can be integrated with control circuits into modules at every radiating element.
The modules are 30mm x 40mm and utilise the SiRFStar 2 chipset and the Royaltek
low-noise amplifier and navigation algorithms.
