A total of 339 P.falciparum thick smears containing 5620 gametocytes were screened for measuring the gametocyte density for
microgametocyte (male) and macrogametocyte (female) and the mean sex-ratio was 0.31 i.e., 3.22 female per male.

microgametocytes from trimethoprim-sulphamethoxazole group (black arrow).
The
microgametocytes were dumbbell-shaped with amoeboid outline and measured 12.45 [+ or -] 2.50 [micro]M x 4.50 [+ or -] 0.78 [micro]M.
Macrogametocytes and
microgametocytes were not detected.
