"By making us work an extra 10 years, how can they put losses down to
natural wastage? "If they follow the government's position, then it may mean redundancies and the FBU have said that if a firefighter is made redundant we'll call a conference and ballot for strike action."
Mr Newbold said that, although the amount of cash in total was the equivalent of 1,600 posts in four years, the savings would be found through various means including becoming more efficient in the way its hospitals - Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull - worked, retirements and
