A protein meshwork lining the inner surface of the nuclear envelope.

They are the major components of a filamentous network underlying the inner nuclear membrane, termed as the nuclear lamina. Nuclear membrane, along with nuclear lamina on its inner periphery, constitutes the nuclear envelope (NE).
