(Presumably a play on "nanosecond") The miniscule time it takes to realize that you've just made a BIG mistake like typing rm -rf * in the wrong directory.

(OH NO! SECOND) The fraction of a second it takes to realize you just made a big mistake on the computer. For example, clicking "No" when prompted to save the document you spent all day composing. Or, accidentally clicking "Send" on the email you typed to vent your frustration. See undo send and bananosecond.
