Mixed glioma with molecular features of composite
oligodendroglioma and astrocytoma: a true "oligoastrocytoma"?
Two cases of astrocytomas were diagnosed as
oligodendrogliomas [Figure 4a and b].
A t(1;19)(q10;p10) mediates the combined deletions of 1p and 19q and predicts a better prognosis of patients with

Oligodendroglioma. In: Kleihues P, Cavenee WK, eds.
1p19q CODEL: A COMPARISON OF DIFFERENT TESTS FOR
OLIGODENDROGLIOMASince 2012, histopathological markers such as MGMT, isocitrate dehydrogenase 1, and IP 19Q have become integral in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant brain tumors such as astrocytoma,
oligodendroglioma, and glioblastoma (Fig 1).
High grade
oligodendrogliomas showed that choline peak was 0.65 while in low grade it was 0.5 and NAA was 0.30 for low grade and 0.15 for high grade.
Their histologic characteristics include monomorphic clear cell glial morphology reminiscent of
oligodendroglioma, although they often express synaptophysin in addition to OLIG2 and S-100 [2, 3].
Moreover, based on the described histopathology, diverse glioblastoma variants are still emerging, such as glioblastoma with primitive neuroectodermal tumor-like component (GBM-PNET), GBM with
oligodendroglioma component (GBM-O), small cell astrocytoma, and granular cell astrocytoma [2].

oligodendroglioma and obstructive hydrocephalus.
