"We now subject MILAM strips, which are made out of the same material as the part to be
peened and supplied by the OEM or part end user, to the shot stream to develop actual residual stress profiles produced by the controlled shot peening," Welsch said.
The fixture is locked in place, and the marking head is actuated to automatically
peen mark the six numbers on the bearing cap exterior surfaces.
The machine is electrically operated (110 V) and allows the user to either dot
peen or diamond scribe by flipping a selector switch, and a standard adjustable-load magazine is provided that accommodates most standard size tags.
You can also employ the services of a subcontractor who will
peen the parts for you.
Also on display will be the PryorMark Dot
Peen marking system that is an easily readable marking method for use in straight, arced, or radial inscriptions, flat or uneven surface, soft or hard materials.
Based on shot peening process technology proven in the aerospace industry, the Vacu-Blast machine provides the flexibility to
peen components ranging in diameter from 50mm to 300mm and up to 750mm in length.
Parts can be marked with dot
peen or a laser, while the tracking is handled through the use of cameras.
Attractive opportunities on jet-engine discs and hubs were being turned away because the repair center lacked the equipment to
peen discs and hubs to specifications.
Laser markers, including the Telesis ProScript, normally provide a more precise mark than a Telesis PINSTAMP or any other dot
peen marker.
