(organic chemistry)
A thermoplastic polymer that is derived from methyl methacrylate, CH2=C(CH3)COOCH3; transparent solid with excellent optical qualities and water resistance; used for aircraft domes, lighting fixtures, optical instruments, and surgical appliances.
