CT abdomen showed 4.2 x 3.5 cm round soft tissue mass in the region of the
porta hepatis which slightly increased in size from previous MRI.

Even the detection of well-defined granulomas in two lymph node biopsies from
porta hepatis and axilla during chemotherapy did not bother the physicians to think of an alternate diagnosis.
Similarly, 3 (09.38%) patients had injury to biliary tree at the level of
porta hepatis, 7 (21.86%) had CHD injury,9 (28.14%) had CBD leak and 6 (18.74%) had CBD strictures ( Table-1).
Ultrasound detected a plexus of vascular, serpiginous structures in the
porta hepatis anterior to the portal vein, and a provisional diagnosis of hepatic vascular malformation was considered.
This requires careful searching for hepatic low densities, atrophy, nodularity, splenomegaly, ascites, varices, omental caking, peritoneal nodules and
porta hepatis or aortocaval lymphadenopathy.
