On that date, restrictions will come into force limiting those who can construct or install a "surface discharging
private sewage disposal system that discharges into the waters of the United States." 225 ILCS 225/7.
The word "sinkhole" was added to the Prohibited Discharges section of the code, which now states: "Domestic sewage or effluent from any private sewage disposal system or component shall not be discharged into any well, cistern, basement or into any underground mine, cave, sinkhole or tunnel."
All of these subdivisions are to be served by private sewage disposal systems on individual lots.
