Homing guidance of a guided missile toward a moving target in which the missile turning rate is proportional to the rate of change of line of sight between missile and target.

The control of the trajectory of a body to home onto a target by changing the course of the body several times based on the rate of change of the sightline to the target. Thus, the angular rate of velocity is proportional to the angular rate of the line of sight to the target. This method normally is used by air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles.
