There are two key parameters of the
radio emission used in the project.
"Design and analysis of a low-frequency radio telescope for Jovian
radio emission ", Electromagnetics Research, vol.
Figures 5 and 6 show, respectively, the radial distance and the
radio emission power for oscillating neutron stars with four different masses under the same initial conditions and the same applied EOS.
"By watching this system over time and seeing how the pattern of
radio emission changed, then tracing the movements of the knots, we saw the exact behaviour expected from this scenario," Chomiuk said.
The new VLA observations revealed previously undetected regions where shocks accelerated subatomic particles, causing
radio emission.
The presentation by Jeff on the nature of
radio emission from the Sun and radio anatomy of a flare was particularly interesting.
"Our measurements show that a supernova's own magnetic field is what gives rise to its
radio emission, not the magnetic fields in the galaxy around it," says Fabien Batejat.
Four of the young brown dwarfs show
radio emission due to jets.
"Since the era of the EGRET instrument on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory in the 1990s, it has been discussed whether outbursts of
radio emission are physically connected to similar events occurring at gamma rays" Anton Zensus, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIfR) and Fermi Affiliated Scientist said.
Follow-up observations with the Lulin optical telescope in Taiwan and ultraviolet data from NASA's GALEX satellite confirmed that the giant lobes of
radio emission, usually seen coming from elliptical galaxies, were coming from a spiral galaxy with ongoing star formation.
