In response to the increasing demand for inexpensive and multifunctional excipients with minimum risk to the products, MCR was engineered from MCC and regenerated cellulose. MCR has high functionality in terms of flow and compression, good binding properties, and strong disintegrating activity.
The "Tianzhu" fiber successfully developed by the company is a regenerated cellulose fiber which is made from bamboo which is widely grown and is made from patented technology.
For example, regenerated cellulose fibers with ionic liquids as solvent have been prepared by dry-jet wet spinning.
Cellulose fibers (both wood pulp and regenerated cellulose) are wetformed and then entangled together using high-pressure water jets to mechanically entangle the fibers together and produce the dispersible wipe substrate.

The patients were randomly divided into three groups (random sorting through a computerized list of patients), each of them employing a different means of hemostasis: in Group-I, classic surgical procedures were used to achieve hemostasis (ligatures and bipolar electrocauterization alone); in Group-II, oxidized regenerated cellulose patch (SurgicelA(r) cellulose-based hemostat 2.5x5 cm) was applied, whereas in Group-III, the fibrin-based hemostat (BeriplastA(r) P Combi-Set 1ml) was used.
In this case series, oxidized regenerated cellulose (Surgicel Nu-Knit; Ethicon; Somerville, N.J) was inserted and used as postnasal packing to control primary postadenoidectomy bleeding in 9 cases after conventional curettage adenoidectomy.
