Roseola spreads in a similar way to the common cold - through coughs and sneezes, and by touching contaminated objects or surfaces.
The most common complication of roseola is febrile seizures.
Is it contagious: Roseola doesn't spread easily, and the NHS advises letting your child attend nursery or school if they feel well enough.
Children develop high temperatures in many common illnesses, including ear infections, urinary tract infections, roseola (a common childhood virus), and flu.
