[L'.sub.rq]: q-axis component of rotor
self-inductance(ii) [L.sub.20] is the
self-inductance of a rectangular loop with also only one small-size turn (a x 2b);
It is noted that the
self-inductance of a cable is determined by the gap distance d, cable's length l, and radius [r.sub.0] [12].
Table 2 compares the
self-inductance and the mutual inductance of the existing machine and the proposed machine.
where [L.sub.d], [L.sub.q] are the orthogonal axis inductances of the motor; [L.sub.f] is the
self-inductance of the rotor field winding; [L.sub.D], [L.sub.Q] are the
self-inductances of orthogonal axis damper winding.
To compute the
self-inductance of each spiral circular coil, the arithmetic geometrical averages for the external and internal coils should be calculated as given in (8)
where [[??].sub.i] marks the
self-inductance of the coil standing alone and n is the total number of elementary coils in the object.
For example, for a 1" long lead, 0.003" thick and 0.010" wide, the partial
self-inductance is 23 nH.
An oscillator, separate from the garment so that it can be removed prior to washing, sends a low-level current from its position on the data cable through the wire array, enough to create a magnetic field to measure the array's
self-inductance. The
self-inductance changes proportionally to the cross sectional area of the band, producing a resonant frequency in the oscillation circuit.
The substantial high frequency performance improvement seen is due to the high capacitance density and more importantly, to the low
self-inductance of the ultra-thin material.
The inductance formula provides a good estimate of a convenient value of the resonator
self-inductance from which the resonator capacitance may be calculated.
