A spokesperson for the force told the ECHO: "Officers were called to Oxton Road at around 12.10pm to reports of a
shop front collapsing.
Work has started this week on six
shop fronts in Ironbridge.
"They have completely smashed up the
shop front," he said.
Lower Bridge Street contained 'many important and very fine buildings' said the inspector adding: "Where these buildings have
shop fronts, they are, on the whole, of good quality and restrained in appearance, including those in more contemporary styles."
