It is obtained by the neutralization of sodium metasilicate. The gelling reaction is based on the hydrolytic process given by the following chemical reaction:
Silica gel was prepared by dissolving 212.14 g of sodium metasilicate ([Na.sub.2]Si[O.sub.3]) in 1000mL of distilled water so as to obtain gel solution of 1 M concentration.
Scarce information is available about homeopathic treatments from
sodium metasilicates, but at non-homeopathic concentrations, they have shown anti-inflammatory properties in murine macrophages and proved effectiveness in scavenging free radicals when used at 1, 5, 10 and 50 [micro]M concentrations (Kim et al., 2013), a concentration close to our 1D dilution.
Fifteen grams of sodium metasilicate in 50 ml of water was added dropwise into 50 ml of hydrochloric acid solution (2.5 N) at 0[degrees]C with stirring for 5 min.
While the silica was prepared through the polysilicic acid condensation through sodium metasilicate and hydrochloride ion exchanges, the average particle size was about 32 nm for the system without extraction.
Carlisle's study in rats used 600 PPM silicon as
sodium metasilicates in the diet consumed.

"You can have different strategies to get more yield and the use of the
sodium metasilicate is one of them."
The batches were moisture-enhanced to 110% of initial weight with sodium chloride (NaCl, 0.5%) and sodium tripolyphosphate (STP, 0.25%); NaCl, STP and cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC, 0.2%); NaCl, STP and lactic acid (0.3%); and NaCl, STP and
sodium metasilicate (0.2%).
They include colloidal silicates (water glass),
sodium metasilicates, sodium sesquisilicates, and sodium orthosilicates.
