A communications network in which all communications between any two points must pass through a central node. Also known as centralized configuration.
(electricity)
A set of three or more branches with one terminal of each connected at a common node to give the form of a star. Also known as star connection.

A network topology where every node has a direct connection (only) to the central node, which might be a hub, switch, or server.

A communications network in which all terminals are connected to a central computer, controller or hub. Mainframes, telephone PBXs and Ethernet are examples. See star bus network and network topology.
