The upcoming Mi Mix 2S also works like the iPhone X, with gestures for accessing the
task switcher. Although, the phone keeps the home bar intact in the body.
The 'floating dock' features lets users move the virtual key anywhere on the home screen with primary Android keys - Back, Home,
Task Switcher, Lock and Close all running apps.
It allows users to get such essential controls as Taskbar, Start menu, system tray and
Task Switcher on each connected display, quickly allocate windows between monitors (either manually or automatically), improve the look-and-feel of a user's desktop.
Apps that might use the feature to keep on running would not be visible in
Task Switcher. Shutting down such an iOS app using the
Task Switcher dashboard would not stop it from running either.
You can also do the same thing from the Metro
task switcher. Swipe in from the left (or use the hot corner), move your finger back towards the edge, and the
task switcher pops up.
The next update will include some very essential features, with true multitasking including third party programs, using a
task switcher 'inspired' by the acclaimed webOS card-style.
