What does it mean when you dream about being under something?

Anything that is obscured by being underneath something else can represent the contents of one’s unconscious mind. Dreaming about seeing something beneath oneself can be about feelings of superiority or feelings of being on top. Alternatively, dreaming about being under someone or something can represent a feeling of being oppressed. Also note the possibility that this dream image might be drawing on a familiar idiom, such as “under the weather,” “under someone else’s wing,” “under someone else’s thumb,” “under the counter,” or “under one’s nose.”
