(1) (VendorWare) The publisher of SmartVendor point-of-sale (POS) software. Located in Markham, Ontario and founded in 1981, VendorWare offers a complete solution for single or multi-store retail establishments, including cash register, inventory management, gift and bridal registry services, loyalty card processing and integration with the back office and e-commerce website.

(2) Packaged software developed for sale to the general public. Contrast with custom software. See COTS.
