The victim claimed eventually Adams became his stalker - appearing as he walked home from school and walking him home where his church-going parents would invite the
verger to tea.
It was alleged to have taken place when he was
verger at Southwark Cathedral.
Station Officer Ray McDonnell, the incident commander, said the
verger spotted smoke coming from a window of the 12th-century building as he prepared to go home.
His unwitting accomplice is FBI agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore) who, thanks to
Verger's friends in high places, finds herself back on the doctor's trail.
This has led to physical assaults and intimidation of the four
vergers who look after the cathedral.
Mr Adams was obviously doing a good job as
verger. It seems to me tragic that, on the reportage of the "victim", now grown up, Mr Adams should, at the age of 58, be jailed and find himself on release without a job or a future.
Jurors at Cardiff Crown Court heard he worked as a head
verger in the church in Wales, where he groomed and indecently assaulted the schoolboy.
"My biggest fear was that he was going to appear one day and try to drag me into the bushes," he told police when he made a complaint about the
verger in January 2010.
The
verger, who now works and lives at St Nicholas Cathedral in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, told police who arrested him two decades after the alleged offences, that he had just been a mentor to the boy.
Granville, of Bronsil Drive, Malvern, claimed her Freelander lost control when it suffered brake failure moments after a
verger "slammed" the priory's gates into the vehicle.
Verger is confident that the Corps will play ball, but even if it doesn't, she said, APM has agreed to put up the $60 million itself.
