ii. A technique of a high-performance aircraft climbing steeply at a high altitude at an optimized speed. The aircraft normally accelerates to the maximum level Mach number, trades speed for height, and reaches to an exceptional height far above the sustained ceiling level. The speed at that height is still very high, unlike a zoom at low altitudes. The altitude thus achieved is called a zoom ceiling.

Unlike in an optical system, zooming in on a computer image does not necessarily increase the amount of detail displayed since this is limited by what is actually stored in the image. Similarly, you cannot zoom out beyond the full size of the image.

(1) To make a video call. Although Skype, Facetime and other videoconferencing services preceded the application from Zoom Video Communications, Zoom became so popular that the term is used generically for any video call. See Zoom videoconferencing and videoconferencing.(2) To change from a close-up view to a distant view (zoom out) or from a distant view to a close-up view (zoom in). An application may provide fixed or variable levels of zoom, and a graphics card may also have built-in zoom capability. All cameras have some zoom capability (see optical zoom and digital zoom). See field of view.
