3D Studio

An earlier name for a 3D modeling and animation program from the Discreet division of Autodesk, Inc., San Rafael, CA (www.discreet.com). It was the first program to bring professional animation and 3D rendering from high-end workstations to the PC. See 3ds Max and Character Studio.
