an order of arachnids of the group Pedipalpi. The flattened body measures as much as 4.5 cm in length. The cephalothorax is broad, and the abdomen has 12 segments and lacks the caudal filament characteristic of other orders of the Pedipalpi. The pedipalps are prehensile, and the legs of the first pair are long and cirriform.
The group consists of approximately 60 species, which are distributed in the tropics. The animals live mainly in forests, under plant debris and rocks.
