Google's second-generation integrated Web and smart TV platform. Introduced in 2014 and superseding Google TV, Android TV features voice search. Commonly called an "Android TV box," it can also be operated by its remote control, a game controller or an app in a mobile device. Using the Cast feature introduced with Google's Chromecast, content can be sent from a computer or mobile device directly to the TV. Set-top boxes and smart TVs based on Android TV debuted in 2014.
