Closed-loop process

Closed-loop process

Part of an industrial production process, but not part of a waste management process. Materials reclaimed and returned in a closed-loop process are not classified or defined as, nor do they operate as, a waste. Materials in a closed-loop process are treated as commodities in a manner designed to avoid loss or release to the environment.
