Colonial architecture

Colonial architecture

A classification pertaining to any architectural style that is transplanted from a country to its overseas colonies. Examples are the Portuguese Colonial in Brazil, Dutch Colonial in New York, French Colonial in New Orleans, and English Colonial in all the former North American colonies.
