DaaS
DaaS
(1) (Desktop As AService) A thin client architecture that is delivered from a cloud service provider rather than from in-house servers. The users' computers function like remote input/output terminals to the servers in the datacenter. Contrast with WaaS. See desktop virtualization, cloud computing and XaaS.
(2) (Data As AService) Data services over the Internet; for example, verifying email and credit card billing addresses. See email verification and address verification.
(3) (Data As AService) A central repository for enterprise data. The "service" aspect means that the data are available to all users and are not tied to the format required by one type of application.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc.
