GOS
(1) See guest operating system.
(2) (gOS) A Linux-based operating environment from Good OS LLC. Pronounced "gee-ohss," it used the Ubuntu operating system along with Google applications such as Gmail and Google Docs. In late 2007, Everex introduced the "gPC," a gOS-based PC featured at Wal-Mart without a monitor for $199. Although the machines sold out almost immediately, support for gOS was dropped within a couple years. Sometimes called the "Google OS," Good OS LLC was not affiliated with Google.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved. THIS DEFINITION IS FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY.
