Java ME
(Java Platform, Micro Edition) A version of Java for mobile devices and consumer appliances. Java ME has been widely used in Nokia phones along with the Symbian OS. Formerly J2ME (Java 2 ME), Java ME uses the K Virtual Machine (KVM), a specialized Java interpreter for devices with limited memory. The Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) provides the programming interface for wireless applications. The Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) provides support for a graphical interface, networking and storage.
