dot-commie

(1) A person who believes everything on the Internet should be free. Such people have no problem displaying copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder on their own websites or distributing it to others.

(2) A derogatory reference to Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft for implementing search engines in China that conform to the Chinese government's policy of blocking websites deemed inappropriate. In early 2006, representatives from these companies, along with hardware maker Cisco, were called before Congress and questioned. All claimed their behavior ethical and above board because they brought significant benefits and advantages to the Chinese people regardless of the imposed restrictions.
