(1) The most common occurrence of the term is the vendor's technical support section on its website. The knowledge base includes a repository of articles and a search capability. In many cases, the content is a combination of support articles and frequently asked questions.
(3) A database of information and rules about a subject used in artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This was the first formal definition of a knowledge base. See expert system and AI.
