In a graphical user interface, a horizontal strip near the top of the screen or a window, containing the titles of available pull-down menus.

A horizontal or vertical strip containing the names of currently available commands.

A permanently displayed menu spread horizontally across the top of the screen or window. When the mouse is pressed over an item on the menu bar, a pull-down menu appears.
