parallactic equation
[¦par·ə¦lak·tik i′kwā·zhən] (astronomy)
An inequality in the moon's motion caused by the sun's perturbing effect on the moon being greater in that half of the moon's apparent orbit around the earth when at new moon rather than at full moon. Also known as parallactic inequality.
