storage encryption
storage encryption
Encrypting data on a hard drive, solid state drive (SSD) or USB drive. Encrypting a storage drive is accomplished in several ways: by using the operating system's built-in encryption function such as BitLocker, by creating a virtual hard drive and encrypting it or by using a software utility that encrypts files and folders. See encryption, virtual hard drive and BitLocker.Copyright © 1981-2025 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved. THIS DEFINITION IS FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY.
