The line through those points on the earth's surface at which the magnetic dip is zero. The aclinic line is a particular case of an isoclinic line. On this line, a magnetic needle balances horizontally without dipping (i.e., the angle of dip is zero). Also called dip equator, magnetic equator, or aclinic line.
