(engineering)
A device that measures the temperature of an enclosed space by means of variations in the pressure or volume of air contained in a bulb placed in the space.

At each site, physical parameters were measured using a YSI, an air thermometer, and a secchi disc.
Thermometers are always welcome in a greenhouse and several companies make good maximum and minimum air thermometers, but how about giving a thermometer for reading soil temperature - something so important when planting out in early spring?
