air-cooled engine

[′er ‚küld ′en·jən]
(mechanical engineering)
An engine cooled directly by a stream of air without the interposition of a liquid medium.

air-cooled engine

A reciprocating engine that depends on cooling by the air mass rather than on liquid coolants. The cooling is directed by radiating heat to the air flowing between the fins around the cylinder head or around a hot rotor casing in the case of a rotating combustion engine.

The difference between air-cooled and water-cooled is about 10% to 15% for cities like Beijing, Singapore and San Francisco.
It is also important to point out that, in Figure 6 above, the total cost of a state-of-the-art air-cooled chiller system modeled in the study is less than that of the 90.
But a lot of experience has shown that maximum engine longevity can be obtained when a conventional air-cooled engine is managed to maintain cylinder head temperatures of no greater than 400 deg.
The condenser water system of the air-cooled IT model has no counterpart in the liquid-cooled model.
Equipment:Power: 16 acoustically containerised generators ranging from 800KVA to 1,500KVA Chillers: 38 air-cooled chillers in duplex configuration.
This water usage is usually compared to zero water required by an air-cooled system, which isn't necessarily a valid comparison.
Using air instead of water to regulate the temperature, the Air-Cooled Peltier accessories provide scientists with greater efficiencies by eliminating the laborious procedure of monitoring recirculating water levels, adding anti-freeze and anti-bacterial mixtures to a water-cooling system.

The main advantages to air-cooled permanent molds are: a longer service life because the mold cools gradually without high stress in comparison to the immediate cooling effects of water-cooled molds;
The air-cooled VLA Series of portable chillers starts at 0.
On the other hand, Mullen says that an air-cooled system does not require the customer to add a water chiller to an existing computer room's plumbing system, as would be required by a fairly simple water-cooled system.
