(electricity)
A long, narrow spring clip with meshing jaws; used with test leads to make temporary connections quickly. Also known as crocodile clip.

Colonial Medical Assisted Devices offers Primus Medical's Prime Snap, designed to replace metal alligator clips and safety pins used with magnetic or pull-pin alarms.
An adjustable 36-in cord is connected to the alarm unit by a magnet, and an alligator clip at the other end of the cord is attached to the patients' clothing.
Inside was an alligator clip - a small clamp of the type sometimes used for holding a marijuana cigarette.
