The oscillating current flow resulting from the tunneling of electron pairs through a thin insulating barrier between two superconductors when a steady voltage, V, is maintained across the barrier, with a frequency equal to 2 eV / h, where e is the magnitude of the charge of the electron and h is Planck's constant.
