anthurium

Any plant of the genus Anthurium, comprising about 600 tropical herbaceous species in the arum family, many of which are popular foliage plants. A few species are widely grown for the florist trade for their showy, long-lasting blossoms; these include the flamingo lily (A. andraeanum), which boasts a salmon-red flower, and the flamingo flower, or pigtail plant (A. scherzeranum), which has a scarlet flower.

In this design, we've taken our inspiration from the East with stunning dendrobium orchids combined with tropical anthurium - think oriental minimalism with a contemporary twist.
In 2009, the resort debuted 42 Anthurium Lily Junior Suites in addition to 12 Hibiscus Suites with private Jacuzzis that opened in 2008 adjacent to the beach.
At present, Sikkim is producing cut flowers, which includes roses, Lilium and Anthurium on a commercial scale.
