That portion of the flight path which extends from the point where a descent is started to the point where the aircraft touches down on the runway.

After the trajectory correction maneuver on October 22, Rosetta has lined up on a near-perfect Earth approach path.
A number of trees have been felled or pruned in recent weeks and earlier in the year, due to their height and proximity to the airport as they lie underneath the aircraft approach path, though those around Pear Tree Cottage were largely unaffected.
