ballistic camera [bə′lis·tik ‚kam·rə]
(optics) A ground-based camera using multiple exposures on the same plate to record the trajectory of a rocket. Ballistic Camera a camera on an azimuthal support for photographing flying projectiles and missiles for the purpose of studying their trajectories. It is also used to photograph artificial earth satellites against the background of a starry sky.
