In 1994 Dunham set Barrelhouse Blues on the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble and the piece remains in their repertoire.
Recorded primarily by artists from the Tennessee city, this is a rollicking collection of soul, blues, string band and barrelhouse scorchers, interspersed with snippets of the film's haunting score by Dickon Hinchliffe of the British art-rock outfit Tindersticks.
